How We’re Using AI to Enhance Boards Study—One Minute at a Time

Core Physics Review

When time is short and the exam is looming, every minute matters. That’s why we created Core Minutes — a podcast designed for radiology residents who want high-yield board review in bite-sized, brain-friendly episodes. But what makes it even more unique? It’s generated using AI.

Yes, you read that right. We’ve been experimenting with AI tools to help script and produce our podcast episodes faster and more flexibly. And we’re excited to share what we’ve learned along the way.

Why Use AI for Podcasting?

Creating quality educational content takes time, especially when it's as structured and detail-driven as board exam review. By incorporating AI into our process, we can:

  • Rapidly generate episode scripts based on reliable, structured references
  • Cover more topics, more frequently
  • Deliver content in a consistent, digestible format that fits into your day

Whether you're commuting, folding laundry, or decompressing after a shift, Core Minutes lets you reinforce key physics concepts without opening a textbook.

Anchored in Trust

We know how important it is that board review content be accurate and authoritative. That’s why every episode is:

  • Anchored to reliable reference texts, including content that's been reviewed and vetted by our faculty.
  • Peer-reviewed by board-certified radiologists before release

So while AI helps with the speed and structure, you can trust the content — just like the rest of Core Physics Review.

What AI Still Can’t Do Perfectly

We’ll be honest: the AI voice isn’t flawless. You might notice the occasional mispronunciation or slightly robotic delivery. It's also not a substitute for the structured lecture or MCQs carefully designed and revised by our faculty over multiple years. But in the trade-off between polish and practical access, we think this version still wins, at least for a podcast. Our goal is to give you:

  • Trusted content
  • High-yield structure
  • Effortless access on the go

...with new episodes releasing regularly.

Recent Episodes You Can Start With

Here are just a few recent topics we’ve covered:

  • Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT): principles, dose, image quality, and artifacts
  • Fluoroscopy: how it works, modes of operation, staying safe
  • NIS Study Guide Parts 1 & 2: professionalism, communication, informatics, and more
  • B-Mode Ultrasound: resolution, artifacts, and trade-offs like penetration versus resolution
